Grant Denyer breaks down on stage as he wins Gold Logie

It’s the most coveted award at each years Logies and this year the Gold Logie was won by Grant Denyer.

In his acceptance speech, the 40-year-old reflected on some difficult times, admitting the show “saved” him.

Family Feud came along for me at a time in my life when I really wasn’t quite sure if I’d work again – or if I even wanted to,” he said tearing up in his acceptance speech. “I wasn’t particularly in a very good place.

“I wasn’t very well, I was in a bit of a hole. I was pretty sad, I was a bit lost and Family Feud came along and I was very unwell at that particular time.

“And Family Feud gave me a ladder out of that whole and I’m very luck to have had it.”

He credited the show for giving him his “mojo back” and his “confidence back”.

“So, Family Feud thank you so much, you saved me,” Grant said crying.

Grant has spoken about his health issues in the past.

Back in 2014, he revealed his “organs were running at seven per cent”.

“I just pushed too hard, too long. I did that at the toll of myself and my family. It was a juggernaut that I couldn’t stop,” he told news.com.au at the time.

Amidst his health battle, Grant quit his Sunrise presenting gig in 2013, and the following year landed a hosting role with Channel Ten’s Family Feud.

Little did he know, this game show spot would land him with a Gold Logie victory four years later.
