Harry and Meghan gave Prince Louis the sweetest gift for his christening

Prince Harry bought a very special (and expensive) christening gift for Prince Louis, with the three-month-old celebrating his special day surrounded by close family.

The Duke of Sussex reportedly purchased a first edition copy of Winnie-the-Pooh by AA Milne for his youngest nephew.

The 33-year-old is thought to have bought the 1926 children’s book from Peter Harrington, a rare book specialists in London, for the tidy sum of $14,200.

Apparently, Prince Harry is starting an exclusive library for the 11-week-old, who is fifth-in-line to the throne.

“One of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother,” a friend told The Sun.

“She loved all the old classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte and George to enjoy as they get older.

Prince Harry has purchased a first edition of the famous novel, Winnie-the-Pooh, for more than $14,000.

“He originally wanted to get Lewis Carroll’s Through The Looking Glass, which was on sale for $42,600 but decided Winnie-The-Pooh would be more suitable for a first time.

Robinson Crusoe was William’s favourite book, but Harry loved all things A.A. Milne.”

Harry and Meghan attended Louis’ baptism – and celebrated with a very special gift.

Certainly beats a Kindle, doesn’t it?

Louis’ godparents are a mix of close friends and family members: Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, The Lady Laura Meade and Robert Carter are all friends of the Duke and Duchess’ and and Lucy Middleton is Kate’s cousin.

Following the service, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge held private tea at Clarence House. Guests were served slices of christening cake, which is a tier taken from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding cake.
