The heartwarming reason Steve K decided to compete on Survivor
Takeaway delivery rider Steve K made quite a statement for himself on Survivor Australia this year as the funnyman of the camp.
Following his eviction from the show on Tuesday night, Steve revealed the heartwarming reason that made him decide to take part.
It was all down to his 15-year-old daughter.
“The one special person that inspired me to get into Survivor was my daughter, Victoria,” the 58-year-old told Be.
The former sustainability consultant admitted he had been estranged from his daughter “six or seven years,” but the pair have now been reunited.
Clearly they have a strong father-daughter bond as Victoria is the one who “pushed” him to do the show.
“It was a dare from my cycling buddies and then my daughter pushed me into it,” he said. “One thing led to another and I got it – 25,000 plus applicants and I got in.”
Steve suffered a blunder on the show a few days ago calling the host of Australian Survivor ‘Jeff’, when his name is actually Jonathan LaPaglia. Awks.
Many fans of the show will know that is the name of the American host of Survivor – Jeff Probst.
Steve simply put it down to not being a “superfan” of the show, although he did admit he was a bit embarrassed.
