Here’s why Ashton Kutcher brought Ellen DeGeneres to tears
Ellen DeGeneres is often the one bringing people to tears on her talk show, but the tables were turned for her on Wednesday.
Ashton Kutcher surprised her on The Ellen Show, and the 60-year-old had no idea about the reason for his impromptu visit.
The actor was then joined by his business partner Guy Oseary.
The pair were there to discuss a tech company which they are both investors for, Ripple.
But it was what they both had to offer on behalf of the company which brought Ellen to tears.
Ashton announced to Ellen the tech company was donating $4 million ($5.3m AUD) to the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund.
Ellen was left totally lost for words.
The host is set to travel to Africa soon to set up “a permanent home for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund”.
“This project will permanently secure the future of wild gorillas in Rwanda by building on successful field conservation efforts, while empowering the people living near the gorillas to thrive in relationship to their own ecosystem,” the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife fund’s website states.
Ellen’s wife Portia De Rossi surprised her back in February on The Ellen Show for her birthday, announcing she had set-up the wildlife fund on behalf of the talk show host.
