Exclusive: Ada's show of support for Harvey Weinstein's victims
Actress Ada Nicodemou has spoken out in support of the brave victims affected by film producer Harvey Weinstein, whose had a slew of sexual misconduct allegations levelled against him.
The 40-year-old Home and Away star, who has been in the Australian television industry for over 20 years, has branded the 65-year-old's behaviour as "awful" and "disgusting".
Ada, who hasn't worked with Weinstein directly, says her heart goes out to the women who've been victims of his behaviour.
"It’s awful," the mother-of-one exclusively told Be on Thursday.
"Any abuse of power like that is just disgusting and unacceptable within whatever industry, it wouldn’t just be our industry either," she said.
"I feel really sorry for all those victims."
As for the incidence of such behaviour taking place in film and television studios in Australia, Ada says it's not something she's personally seen happen.
"Obviously I’m being naïve to say at some level it mustn’t go on with some people but I on a personal level and with everyone that I talk to have never experienced anything like this, no," she told Be.
Since movie mogul Weinstein was accused of being a sexual predator in a sensational exposé last week, more and more women have been coming forward with stories of their own.
