Home and Away star Catherine Godbold dies age 43
Home and Away star Catherine Godbold has passed away after battling brain cancer.
The actress, who also starred in The Saddle Club, was just 43-years-old.
Her family confirmed the tragic news to 9News revealing she had passed away on Friday.
Catherine – nickname Cathy – was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2007.
She had a tumour removed and underwent chemotherapy at Melbourne Hospital.
However, in January this year she learned the cancer had returned.
She had gone to hospital for a broken foot.
Cathy was best known for her role as Deborah Hale on The Saddle Club which she starred on for two seasons from 2001 – 2003.
Prior to her role on the popular ABC show, Cathy starred on Home and Away as Meg Bowman in the 1990s.
Her character on the show passed away from leukemia.
Cathy also held roles on Neighbours, Hey Dad and Newlyweds.
She was the daughter of late Australian broadcaster and Logie winner Rosemary Margan who passed away in December last year aged 80.
