Hotels offer saucy 'Fifty Shades' packages

The erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey is the most talked about book right now – and Seattle hotels are getting in on the action.

The US city provides the backdrop for some of the raunchy encounters between control-freak billionaire Christian Grey and shy literary graduate Anastasia Steele.

Hotels are offering special packages for guests who want to recreate some of the key scenes.

Seattle, where most of the erotic story unfolds...

Hotel Max is promoting a 'Fifty Shades of Seattle' deal that includes two nights' accommodation, a chauffeured car and a sailing excursion on the Puget Sound complete with gourmet picnic and a bottle of Grey's favourite champagne – Bollinger.

And to complete the copycat date, there's a tour of the city by helicopter, so guests can sit back and pretend they’re in Grey's private chopper.

The hotel markets itself as Seattle's "sexiest hotel" and the perfect place to "live out a few of your fantasies".

All up the bill comes to nearly $2500 – and if you're in character, you won't even blink at it.

The Edgewater Hotel offers a similar package, but drops the helicopter ride for a blitz in a high-powered Audi.

But the most avid Fifty Shades fans will be heading to Portland, where the pair first lock eyes at the Heathman Hotel.

"The Heathman was featured as a backdrop to much of the book, and with that role as supporting actor we have received amusing and intriguing praise and interest," its website claims.

It is running a promotion called the Charlie Tango package - named after Grey's chopper.
