New 6-Star Luxury Ship Set To Cruise the Oceans

Breaking away from the traditional luxury river cruise itineraries, Scenic has announced the world’s first discovery yacht with its latest luxury, 6-star, mega-yacht, Scenic Eclipse.

Launching 31 August, 2018, the exclusive yacht’s maiden voyage will be Istanbul to Venice with itineraries to cover The America’s, Antarctica, Europe and the Mediterranean, the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords.

The all-suite, 228-passenger ship, which looks more like a billionaire's yacht than a cruise ship, will have an ice-strengthened hull, twin helicopters, an aft marina with a fleet of Zodiacs and a seven-person submarine.

Each suite features a balcony and come complete with a butler service.

Scenic is describing the vessel as the "world's first discovery yacht;" it will have the highest passenge ship ice-class rating -1A Super - allowing it to operate deep into the Arctic and Antarctica, where it will spend three months of the year.

Relax in any weather in the heated pool with a retractable roof or work up a sweat in the gym or pilates studio on board.

Prices for cruising on Scenic Eclipse will be all-inclusive, even down down to the choice of excursions at each port (but the helicopter and submarine will cost extra). That is unusual as the majority of cruise lines charge for tours as well as drinks and tips.

Scenic Chairman Glen Moroney commented: “Our goal with Scenic Eclipse was to open up the private Discovery Yacht experience so that our guests could discover regions previously only visited by a fortunate few.”
