The Internet can't get enough of this $1,700 'T-shirt shirt'

A high-end T-shirt design is being ridiculed online, and it’s not hard to see why.

Spanish brand Balenciaga – the same label who brought us platform crocs and a $260 scrunchie – have decided to combine a men’s tee with a business shirt, by literally stitching the shirt to the front of the tee.

The “T-shirt shirt” as it’s aptly named, has “two wearing options” and retails for an eye-popping AU$1,709.

As expected, social media is having a ball with it, with people across the interwebs doing a collective double take.

One guy had the right idea and created his own DIY “T-shirt shirt” with a little tape.

Meanwhile others started designing their own double outfits, like a “dress top” and “jeans shorts”.
