The Irwins plan 'world domination' to honour late Steve

The Irwins have revealed their plans to “change the world” in honour of the late Steve Irwin.

The ‘wildlife warriors’ opened up about the Crocodile Hunter’s dream for his family to “carry on the torch” when he passed, with Terri teasing “world domination” was next on their agenda.

Discussing an old clip of the 44-year-old that appears on the first episode of family’s new TV show, Crikey! It’s the Irwins, his mini-me son explained he plans to keep his dad’s legacy alive by inspiring others.

“If we can inspire the next generation to be passionate about what they love, to follow their dreams, no matter what it is, then that’s really how we’re going to change the world,” he told BUILD.

“That’s always been a big mission of mine and I think for us [the Irwins] it’s all about doing exactly what dad said in that video, and I think we are to the point in our lives now where we’re ready to continue his mission,” the 14-year-old said.

“We’re ready to run up his cause and make sure that message, that voice that he had, I mean he reached so many millions, and make sure that it never fades away.

During the candid conversation, which was filmed alongside mum Terri and sister Bindi, he said he hopes their new documentary show can help make his dad’s message “bigger and better”.

Bindi agreed, explaining Steve never wanted to be remembered as a person, but for his message.

“Dad always said, ‘I don’t care if people remember me. I care if people remember my message’,” the 20-year-old explained. “And I feel exactly the same way. I really truly believe that we’ve been put here for a reason and a purpose.”

“To affect positive change on the planet and inspire other people to get involved.”

Even Terri, who has previously described Steve as her “only soulmate”, chipped in, joking she was looking forward to “world domination” as they helped people to think about their effect on the planet.

In the trailer for the new wildlife show, the family declared they were “all about carrying on in our dad’s footsteps”.

Steve died during an accident with a stingray off the coast of Queensland in 2006.

He was best known for his TV show Crocodile Hunter, but also worked tirelessly to preserve native Australian wildlife.

We think it’s safe to say, khaki is definitely back.
