In a fight to rival the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter author J.K Rowling has taken on pro-Trump commentator Piers Morgan.
No wands are required, as the pair have taken to their keyboards to wage war via Twitter.
We’ve been following the beef for several days now, with J.K kicking things off by tweeting her delight at Piers being told to “f—k off” by Aussie comedian Jim Jeffries on the political show Real Time with Bill Maher.
The pair has been slinging insults back and forth ever since, but J.K stepped up her game on Valentine’s Day with a seemingly innocent post that was actually full of Slytherin-like evil genius.
She tweeted an excerpt from a piece written about her and said: “Just been sent this! Could the writer let me know who he is? I'd love to thank him!”
Piers, of course, couldn’t resist and seized the opportunity to call J.K out for her “humblebrag”.
But the joke was on Piers. Turns out he wrote the article in the first place, which is very strange when you consider its highly complimentary tone.
Kind of goes against all those hateful things he’s been tweeting, no?
J.K’s fans took great delight in dragging Piers after they put it all together.
The controversial conservative figure claimed he knew he’d written it, and attempted to clap back with a feeble burn of his own.
Relax, quarter-wit, I knew what it was. Just surprised I put her as high as 97th. https://t.co/HCzx4Ius4E— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 14, 2017
But the damage was already done!
Another thing working against Piers is the fact that his son Spencer is a Harry Potter fanatic, proudly sporting his Deathly Hallows tattoo for the Twitterverse to see.
He's been posting other Harry Potter-related pics since, seemingly showing his support for the author rather than his dad.
It looks like Piers has been brutally slayed by J.K yet again.
What a squib!
