As he releases his newest album Happy Accidents, English musician Jamie Lawson says he's very keen to hear what Australians think of his new record.

After all, the 41-year-old singer signed on to Ed Sheeran's label, Gingerbread Man Records, became a bit of an Aussie himself during his trip Down Under a few years ago.

"It was good fun for the day," he tells Be of his time performing on popular reality showThe Bachelor Australia back in 2015.

The star serenaded Sam Wood and runner-up Lana Jeavons-Fellows on the Channel Ten show during a romantic date, with a sweet rendition of his popular song, I Wasn't Expecting That.

Describing it as an "interesting experience to have", Jamie says he had to do a few takes to get the scene right, as Sam and Lana slow-danced to his chart-topping tune.

"I think I went away from Australia pretty quick after that so I have no idea what happened, whether that couple won or not," he laughs.

For the record, Lana placed second on the show, behind eventual winner Snezana Markoski.

And a Bachelor episode is not the only Australian TV cameo Jamie's had, as he also appeared in an episode of Neighbours when Brad proposed to Laura.

"That was pretty mad, what a weird day that was," he tells Be of the experience.

"I got to meet Dr Karl and Toadfish and people that I’d seen on my screen when I was much younger, so [it was a] really strange but brilliant day. Not something I ever thought would happen," he adds.

Now that he has released a new album, Jamie has a great excuse to return to Australia.

"I would love to," he says of his plans to jet Down Under, hoping Aussies love the sound of his new record.

"It kind of follows on from the last record. It’s just a bigger sound I think, more layers, more textures," he explains.

Having more time to work on the album has also helped Jamie develop an enriching album that he hopes really hits home with listeners.
