Janet Jackson splits from third husband

Just three months after the arrival of their son Eissa on January 3, Janet Jackson and her husband Wissam Al Mana have ended their five-year marriage.

"Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn’t working and to go their separate ways," a friend of the singer told the Daily Mail.

"They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart. It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London."

Janet, 50, and Wissam were wed in 2012 amidst unconfirmed speculation she had converted to Islam for him.

With Wissam estimated to be worth at least $1.3 billion – more than four times Janet's reported worth – the divorce looks to be a complicated one.

This will be Janet's third divorce, after she was previously married to musician James DeBarge from 1984 until 1985 and dancer Rene Elizondo Jr. from 1991 until 2000.

"I thought I was jinxed," Janet said after the second marriage split. "Maybe marriage isn’t for me? Maybe it’s my fault it never works."
