Jasmine Yarbrough's evolution from girl next door to fashionista
She’s one half of Australia’s most trendy shoe brand and was recently seen front row at Australia’s 2018 Fashion Week.
But Karl Stefanovic’s younger girlfriend Jasmine Yarbrough hasn’t always been the fashionista we know her as today.
Before she was the crème de la crème of style, the 34-year-old was an aspiring model who strutted her stuff on catwalks in lingerie and swimwear.
With her mousey brown hair and her girl-next-door vibe, Jasmine is barely recognisable in images that emerged recently of her walking at the 2010 Australian Fashion Week.
As she flaunts her figure in a variety of swimmers, she couldn’t be further from the demure woman she portrays these days.
A look back at the American publication Just Jared’s 2012 Halloween Party demonstrates this perfectly, as she’s seen dancing the night away in a risqué vampire Miss Piggy costume.
Dressed in a pale pink leotard and a statement tutu that she’s teamed with a pair of over-the-knee socks, you can barely recognise the Jasmine we know today.
At one point in the video Jasmine flashes her silver knickers to photographers, smiling as she voluntarily twerks for the cameras. We’re pretty certain she wouldn’t be caught doing that today.
It’s clear from her Instagram feed Jasmine wants to move on from that party girl phase as she steps into a more mature lifestyle.
Her social media page is a stream of snaps from glitzy fashion events that she attends , often dressed head-to-toe in expensive designer clothing.
Jasmine rarely indulges fans with photos of her and Today Show host Karl, despite having been together since August 2017 and even ‘marrying’ in a commitment ceremony in Sydney’s Northern Beaches in March.
When we do see the glamorous designer, it’s usually on a red carpet or sitting front row at a high brow fashion show.
At the recent launch for her Mara and Mine collection — which she co-owns with Tamie Ingham — the blonde didn’t even touch a drink, despite reports saying there was free flowing Pommery champagne and an endless supply of luxe cocktails.
Some thought this was because she’s pregnant, but a smarter assumption would be that she doesn’t want to risk a drunken slip up in public, which could be costly to her brand and damage her name.
Her stylish ways also appear to have rubbed off on Karl, 44, who seems to have spruced up his look since they started dating.
No longer the daggy dad, Karl is also seen at these fancy events schmoozing with Sydney’s elite.
There were even rumours recently he’d undergone a hair transplant to fight the classic male ageing problem of a receding hairline and had been spending time in the gym thanks to his fitter looking physique.
Even their home life seems sophisticated, with Jasmine recently revealing they love to snack on olives and enjoy date nights once a week in an interview with Grazia.
With Jasmine’s public profile only really ramping up since her relationship with Karl hurled her into the spotlight, this transformation may still be in its early stages.
But it’s fair to say, she’s come a long way from her catwalk days.
