Jennifer Hawkins to 'step down' as face of Myer after 12 years

She’s been the face of retail giant Myer for the past 12 years, but sources claim Jennifer Hawkins is set to retire from her role later this year.

The 34-year-old, who has strutted her stuff for the brand on countless catwalks throughout the years, apparently had issues with negotiating a new contract.

According to Sydney Morning Herald’s Private Sydney, The Block star Elyse Knowles will take over the prestigious job, “at a fraction of the price.”

Jennifer was reportedly on a $1.3 million contract with Myer, which included appearing in catwalk shows, making appearances as an ambassador for the brand and being the face of the shop’s campaigns.

However, it’s being claimed that Jennifer will still walk in Myer’s spring/summer showcase later this month, alongside Elyse Knowles.

Speaking to Be just after she signed a two-year contract with the brand two years ago, Jennifer claimed the novelty of the glamorous Myer runway never wears off.

“I’m so pumped. I don’t do catwalk shows often. I’m either doing TV or working on my own businesses but to do catwalk is the cherry on top,” Hawkins animatedly told Be at the time.

“It’s such an amazing feeling that you represent that brand and you embody it in your every day life. So that was an amazing feeling to actually hit 10 years and then to sign up for another two.”

Jennifer, who is married to Jake Wall, has a lengthy list of companies under her belt, including her JBronze tanning like and her own range of Tequila, called Sesión, as well as numerous contracts with other brands, including Colgate.

It’s believed she’ll officially retire from her role as Myer ambassador in November, when her contract comes to an end.
