Jessica Simpson slammed by 'parent police' after sharing video of injured son

Mummy-shamers are once again coming for Jessica Simpson.

The mother-of-two has been criticised in the past over everything from letting her daughter wear a bikini top to bike safety. Now she’s getting heat for her son’s time in the pool.

Just days ago, the former pop star revealed that Ace, who turns five this month, had broken his arm.

The injury hasn’t curbed the young boy’s summer fun, however. Over the weekend, he and father Eric Johnson hit the pool for some underwater antics.

Simpson shared a video of Eric, the former NFL star she married in 2014, throwing their son in the air.

Ace, who she explained was wearing a waterproof cast, did a backflip before landing back in the water.

Though the proud mum noted that a “broken bone doesn’t hold this kiddo down,” some of her followers were more outraged than impressed.

“This doesn’t seem very smart to me but then again I know the difference between chicken and tuna,” read one comment, while another critic called it “incredibly stupid.”

“As someone in healthcare, I’m going to say that’s not a good idea,” someone added.

“I’m sorry but I think that is the most ridiculous thing to be doing as a parent!” an appalled commenter wrote. “I’m sure you all are great parents but my daughter broke her arm and she was told to not swim or doing anything strenuous.”

“He’s throwing his child like he’s throwing a ball or an object,” another person remarked. “It wouldn’t be so bad if his arm wasn’t already broken. I see why people are concerned, it’s dumb.”

But many were quick to defend Jessica and Eric, saying that mummy-shamers should mind their own business.

“People need to lighten up and have some fun,” one fan wrote.

“The parent police need to worry about their own kids and keep their mouths SHUT!” another Jessica supporter said of the backlash. “He has a waterproof cast, he is in the pool and with his parents doing what kids do. As grown ups we spend way too much time keeping our kids from being kids.”

Jessica hasn’t commented on the criticism.
