One thing not to bring to a job interview
Job interviews are tough but you could be making them even harder on yourself by making a serious faux pas the minute you walk in the door.
There's some obvious things you should never do in a job interview, like answer your phone half-way through, chew gum or be late, but it seems not everyone is clued in on these.

According to a job seeking website Workopolis, there's a long list of things you should leave outside the door when you're about to go in for a job interview and some of them are just plain bizarre.
One thing that stood out most was that people actually bring their shopping bags into the room with them.
Some people might not think twice about bringing their essentials into the meeting room but according to Workopolis bringing shopping in "presents the absolute wrong message".
"It makes it look like the interview is just something you’re fitting in between other things, not the sole focus of your day," they say.
"You want to look like you really care about the job. Do your shopping later."
Also on the list of no-go's for job interview is bringing along your pet dog, cat or hamster.
You should also never bring a coffee into the room with you or a rival company's product.
The website also says that bringing along your mum or day is a serious mistake.
"You are not a child. Don't act like one," they say.
The tips come just days after a Reddit thread titled: ‘Employers: What are some red flags when it comes to a potential hire’.
In it managers reveal traits that put them off hiring a candidate.
“I’ll know within two minutes whether someone is qualified for the job or not,” one user wrote. “So many people lie about the skills they have on their resume, and think they can get away with it. They're just wasting their time and more annoyingly, my time.”
“If someone shows up late for an interview with no excuse and no effort made to let me know they were running behind I tell them I am no longer interested in interviewing them,” another posted.
And while you want to come across a friendly, you don’t want to divulge too much into your personal life.
“Attitude is huge. You need to create a positive experience for the interviewers, trying too hard is fine, being nervous is fine, you need to give the impression you want to be there,” says a manager.
