In less than five minutes, thousands of Yeezy fans had flocked to the venue, which only holds 1,500 people, with queues going back almost two blocks.
When Kanye arrived, speaking to the crowd from the sunroof of a car, the fans reached near-riot status, shoving and crushing each other to get a closer glimpse of the rapper.
Videos and photos of the crazed crowd were shared on Twitter, showing the masses running after Kanye and his car.
The pop-up show was ultimately cancelled, with police officers forced to try and move the angry fans along.
Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian, took to Instagram to apologise to fans for the show's cancellation.
"Last night was crazy! Kanye wished he could have performed last night and really tried so hard but it was ultimately out of his control!" she wrote.
"He has the best fans in the whole world, thank you all for coming out at 2am. Promise he will make up this pop up show!"
