How Kate plans to make George's school life 'normal'

He may be one of the most photographed children in the world, but Kate Middleton has a plan to keep Prince George grounded when he’s in school.

The adorable four-year-old will be heading off for his first day of school next Thursday at Thomas’s Battersea in London with Kate and Wills expected to drop him off at the gates.

And while they may have drivers at their every command, it’s been revealed that Kate is hell-bent on doing the school run every day to keep George’s life as normal as possible.

"They are very hands-on parents and although they acknowledge that it might cause a bit of a buzz to start with, they are hopeful it will soon settle down,” a source close to the royals told the Daily Mail.

“It's very important to both of them that George enjoys as normal a childhood as possible, particularly as he settles into a new school, and for them this includes dropping him off at the school gates."

Other sources claim Kate is adamant that she wants her children to grow up and have the same school life that she did when she was young.

Prince George will enroll at Thomas’s Battersea School on Thursday, shunning Wetherbys in Kensington, which Prince William and Prince Harry famously attended.

The Duke and Duchess have instead decided to send George to a middle-class school just across the river from Kensington Palace, in an area known as ‘Nappy Valley’ due to the amount of young affluent families in the area.

Prince George will be thought to honour the schools mantra to “Be kind” and best friends are reportedly forbidden in favour of students having a few good friends instead.

“You can get very possessive friendships. It is much easier if they have a wide range of good friends rather than obsessing about who their best friend is,” Principal Ben Thomas wrote online.
Kensington Palace announced the news on Twitter, alongside the caption:

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have announced that Prince George will attend Thomas's Battersea School in London from September 2017.

The school currently has 544 pupils aged between four and 13-years-old and two of its most famous alumni are model Cara Delevingne and singer Florence Welch.

It was previously reported by the ABC that principal Ben Thomas penned a letter to parents of kids already at the school explaining Prince George’s imminent arrival.
