Was Kate Middleton snubbed in the new royal documentary?

She may have been married to the future King for the past seven years but Kate Middleton hardly appears in the new royal documentary at all.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is one of the main stars of the show, despite only being an official member of the royal family for the past four months.

The documentary, Queen of the World, is set to focus on the 92-year-old Monarch’s dedication to the 53 countries in the Commonwealth over her 66 years on the throne.

In a clip recently revealed of the documentary, Meghan Markle can be seen talking directly to camera, with the film crew even following her into her wedding dress fitting.

The moment the now Duchess sees her veil for the first time is captured for royal fans to see, with Meghan saying: ’53 countries, oh my goodness’, in regards to the 53 flowers that were hand embroidered to represent each Commonwealth country.

However, Kate Middleton only appears in the background of the documentary, due to the fact that she was on maternity leave.

“Kate was largely out of action during the main filming,” an insider with the documentary told People.

“CHOGM was a focal point and she was due to give birth any minute then.”

The Duchess of Cambridge wasn’t completely axed from the documentary though, as the insider said: “There is film of events and receptions which she attended, so you do see her.”

The documentary is set to give fans a rare insight into the daily workings of Buckingham Palace.

During one of the clips, Prince Harry reveals that he still ‘panics’ when he sees his grandmother, the Queen, walking towards him in the hallways.

“You guys have spent way more time in Buckingham Palace than I ever have – and you’ve only been here two weeks,” he joking says in the clip, according to The Telegraph.

“Have you bumped into the Queen yet?

“If you suddenly bump into her in the corridor, don’t panic. I know you will. We all do.”
