Kate's worn her wedding outfit three times before

If you thought the silk coat the Duchess of Cambridge wore to Harry and Meghan’s wedding looked somewhat familiar, you aren’t alone.

Kate has had the Alexander McQueen design for three years and we’ve already seen her wear it three times before.

The first occasion was Charlotte’s christening back in 2015 when the royal paired it with white pumps and a matching hat with flowers on one side.

It was wheeled out again for the Queen’s 90th birthday the following year, and was worn during that iconic moment that Kate, George and Charlotte watched in awe as a military display unfolded right in front of the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

The last and most recent time was during her and William’s visit to Belgium in July last year, when she wore it with oversized pearl earrings and grey suede heels.

A fan of recycling outfits, ‘thrifty Kate’ as she’s called, is often seen re-wearing her favourite wardrobe staples, and in this case, she could have been ensuring that she would not upstage the bride.

However, her choice of outfit was much talked about regardless, with the colour pointed out as a general wedding faux pas.

While the coat is definitely on the white scale, the designer has actually marked the colour as “primrose yellow”.
