Katie Price explains why she left 9-year-old Princess at the airport

We all saw the snaps from Katie Price’s luxurious Maldives holiday but now we know the drama that unfolded at the airport before they all arrived in the sun.

The 38-year-old mother-of-five opened up on British TV show Loose Women about leaving her nine-year-old daughter Princess in the airport while she boarded the flight with the rest of the family.

Kate revealed that she had no choice but to part ways with Princess after she was told the young girl’s passport was too close to its expiry date for her to take to the skies.

“The other day I was put in a situation, I was flying abroad, obviously with all the kids and then the guy behind the counter asked, ‘Which one is Princess, she can’t fly’,” Katie candidly revealed on the show.

The person at the check-in desk then told Katie that Princess’ passport was due to expire in five months and the law requires a person to have at least six months left on their passport.

“I told them we’ve all got to fly together, but they said she won’t be allowed to,” Katie continued.

Katie said she was then put in a “situation” where she had to ask herself if she go ahead with the rest of the kids to their holiday destination or stay with Princess.

“Do I stay behind? Do we not go? Or do I go?” she asked.

The former glamour model then decided to leave Princess with a family member at the airport while the rest of the clan headed off on their sun holiday.

However Katie said it was due to logistical reasons she needed to leave Princess behind and if they had all stayed behind the holiday might have been a disaster

“There were no other flights for the rest of the week where all seven of us could get seats,” Katie explained.

“So I had to leave her with a family member.

“She got on another plane with another airline the next day and it was fine.

“But it was like Final Destination – what if I get on the plane and something happens, or I stayed and something happens to the family?

“You can drive yourself mad worrying about things but you have to remember it is what it is.”

The outspoken star then said that she “treats every day like her last as you never know what’s going to happen” with the audience cheering her on.

Of course Princess did manage to make her way to the island days later, with Katie sharing images of the her kids enjoying themselves on the beach to her Instagram page.

The holiday was said to be a second honeymoon for Katie and her husband Kieran, who was famously caught cheating with her best friend.
