Keira and Jarrod finally open up about life after Paradise

After sharing their love for each other with the world in the finale of Bachelor in Paradise on Monday, Keira and Jarrod have finally spoken publicly about their romance and ‘life after paradise’.

Having reportedly cancelled all media interview scheduled for the week, people started having doubts about whether the pair were actually still as loved-up as it was claimed.

But in an Instagram live with her fans on Tuesday night, Keira put any rumours of trouble to bed, as she offered to answer questions online. Even Jarrod, who was on his winery at the time, joined the live session.

“We’ve been hiding for six months,” Keira told the over 2,300 fans watching.

“It’s been very stressful, we’ve basically been under house arrest,” Jarrod added.

Despite posting on social media, Keira Maguire and Jarrod Woodgate hadn’t spoken publicly on radio or television about their relationship.

They did confirm they ‘split their time’ between Toms Cap Vineyard Retreat in Gippsland and Jarrod’s home in Brighton, Melbourne, in an interview published by Woman’s Day this week.

Keira confirmed the pair have been together for the six months since the show finished filming, and she was able to officially meet Jarrod’s family at Christmas.

“I spent the whole Chrismas with his family and they were so welcoming,” Keira said on Instagram.

“They were just so warm, I shed a tear. I was very grateful.”

Keira revealed she gets along extremely well with Jarrod’s mum, who she said is “crazy like me”.

Jarrod, who referred to Keira as ‘bub’ throughout (adorable!), said his family “loved you as soon as they laid their eyes on you”.

But the question all her fans, us included, wanted to know was were they planning on getting married? And why did Jarrod not propose at the end of the show?

“Maybe some time in the future, we’ve just started our relationship really this is just the beginning,” Jarrod told viewers.

“I want it to be more intimate [than on the show], in my own time and right for both of us. And not around other people where we will then get separated straight away.”

Of course living together comes with a new set of challenges, with Jarrod revealing one of Keira’s annoying habits.

“She always leaves have half drunk water bottles scattered round the house,” he said, laughing. “If there is a bottle laying around it’s always yours, there’s one in every single room.”

Both reflected on their time on Bachelor in Paradise, agreeing the experience was so much more positive than on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

“It was not scripted at all, especially the rose ceremonies, you just never knew what was going to happen,” Keira said. “It was so good to be a part of. BIP was a lot more genuine and natural.”

Of course the happy ending makes a huge difference too!
