Keith's 'ex dealer' gives shock details about his addiction

Keith Urban’s not one to shy away from his demons, having spoke openly about his battles with drink and drugs.

Now a man claiming to be the singer’s former drug dealer has come out of the woodwork, alleging that Keith’s battle was way worse than anyone knew.

According to David Dobson, he supplied drugs to the star between 1994 and 2001 and claims that at one point, Keith smoked crack in his daughter’s bedroom.

“He’d be doing it at my house and I’d wanna throw him out for it,” David tells Woman’s Day.

“He’d say, ‘I’m gonna take a shower, and you’d hear him in the bathroom with a lighter, doing crack’.”

David credits Keith’s wife Nicole Kidman for keeping the star on the straight and narrow in recent years, but he fears the star could fall back on old habits.

“I just don’t know if it’ll last,” he says in reference to the singer’s sobriety

Earlier this year Keith opened up about his demons, revealing he first tried cocaine in the early Nineties when his housemate offered him a "massive pipe."

“I’d never had it, it looked so, so I took it," he told Rolling Stone.

“Things didn’t immediately go pear-shaped, but that was the beginning of it.”

Admitting that cocaine and ecstasy were his "thing", after tying the knot with Nicole back in June 2006, Keith spent a few months at the Betty Ford Center in California, in a bid to get a handle on his issues.

It was his third time in rehab within eight years.

Now a proud father-of-two with a solid music career under his belt, Keith has insisted he’s keen to maintain sobriety, and doesn’t want to revisit that chapter of his life.

“The whole back end of the ’90s were just awful,” he told Rolling Stone.

Earlier this month, Nicole, who shares two daughters with Keith, also opened up about her husband’s troubled past and how hard it has been to take a step back and let him take responsibility for his actions.

“It’s a very big thing for people like me who go, ‘I can take care of you. I can do it’,” she told People magazine.

“At some point, you just have to say, 'I love you and I'm here when you decide to do the work. If you don't, then that's it.’.”

Keith has credited his wife for helping him achieve sobriety, after failing to do so with two stints in rehab prior to their marriage.

“I use the expression, ‘I was born into her,’ and that’s how I feel,” he said.

“And for the first time in my life, I could shake off the shackles of addiction.”
