Can you spot the animal hidden in this illusion?
The latest optical illusion to sweep the internet has us puzzled.
Can you spot what animal is hidden within this hypnotic black and white zig zag image?
If you’re having trouble, you might need to step back or look at your screen from an angle.
See it now?
It’s a panda! And not just any panda, it’s the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) panda logo.
The mastermind behind this bamboo-zling puzzle titled 'They can disappear' is Russian artist Ilja Klemencov.
Although the original artwork has been around for a few years, one fan recently decided to re-post the image to Reddit.
In no time the illusion boomed in popularity across social media, in turn raising awareness for the endangered species.
The WWF’s 2014 census found 1864 panda’s alive in the wild, with numbers having risen from around 1000 in the late 1970s.
While the rare bear’s numbers are slowing increasing, it still remains on IUCN’s red list of threatened species.
The black and white bear is native to south central China and plays a crucial role in the bamboo forests spreading their seeds and helping the vegetation to grow.
As China’s national symbol, they are economically and culturally valuable to the country and are especially beneficial for local communities through ecotourism and other activities.
Thanks to WWF supporters, there are now more panda reserves than ever before and more projects that help save the beautiful fluff balls from extinction.
