Meet the man who has just been crowned Mr World 2016

Rohit Khandelwal has just won the Mr World 2016 male beauty pageant, making him officially the ‘world’s most desirable man’.

Not only is Mr Khandelwal hot to trot but he beat out 46 finalists, making him the first-ever Indian man to win the title in Southport, in the UK last week.

The 26-year-old Indian model and television personality took to his Instagram account to thank his fans and called the win the most memorable moment of his life.

"Humbled to be the first Asian, Indian to win Mr.world 2016," he said.

"Lots of love to all who have been supporting and following my journey :* I can't express how much I have been motivated from every message I see .. Love you all.

"My journey has been a journey of transformation and I give entire credit to people I crossed my path with who only helped me to become a better human being."

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia his friend and photographer Sayan Sur Roy said Mr Khandelwal, who is already a big sensation in India with over 157,000 Instagram followers, worked incredibly hard on his fitness to become Mr World 2016.

"He worked hard to win Mr India, and he worked doubly hard for Mr World," he said.

According to the Mr World website, the pageant is a two-three week competition designed to test the candidates in a variety of ways through a series of challenge events, interviews and a final stage show.

"These challenges test every aspect deemed necessary to be "The World's Most Desirable Man", the website says.

Five challenge events, including: Fashion & Style, the Extreme Challenge, the Multi-Media Award, the Sports Challenge & the Talent Competition, take place throughout the weeks and the winner is picked by a panel of judges who weigh up the performances of each candidate before hearing from them on stage as to why they want to win Mr World, and what it would mean to them.

"To Win Mr World you must be a well rounded individual with good looks, physical strength, charisma, charm, and a strong personality. We are looking for the full package, desirable in every sense," the website says.

When he won Mr Khandelwal said: "I feel so privileged and humbled to be Mr World 2016.... It has been an amazing journey to this point, and I cannot wait to see what happens next.'"

With a face and body like that, we see numerous modeling contracts in his future that's for sure.
