This is the most hated word in the English language
It’s a word that’s never harmed anyone. Short, seemingly innocent and something all bakers aspire to achieve.

But when it comes to the word "moist", it’s enough to send shivers down most people’s spine.
And now it’s taken out the honour of being the least favourite word in the English language, after Oxford Dictionaries launched their #OneWordMap campaign in a bid to pinpoint the word that isn’t on everyone’s lips.

Unfortunately, due to “severe misuse” aka some immature people ruining it for everyone, the website has since stopped taking votes.
But not before more than 10,000 submissions were made, with moist being an early contender for taking out the top spot.
There’s even been scientific studies into why that word gives us the heebie jeebies. According to research published by the Scientific American, up to 20 percent of the population hate the word “moist” due to its association with bodily functions.
