This is the point where the passion apparently leaves a relationship

If you're lamenting the loss of passion in your relationship, then it appears you may not be alone, as a new study has revealed the exact point couples get bored with each other, and it's not as far in as you would think.

According to a new study by Munich's Ludwig Maximilian University, which was published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, sexual satisfaction in a relationship peaks at just one year.

Interestingly, they found that "the moment of greatest sex life satisfaction" occurred just 12 months into a relationship.

The study also found that the introduction of kids into a couple's lives didn't affect the result, with many claiming it has little impact on their sex lives.

"We did not find that having children played a major role in a couple’s sexual satisfaction, which is remarkable as research has shown that sexual frequency is heavily influenced by the existence and age of children," observed study author Claudia Schmiedeberg, according to the Telegraph.

However the research did show that couples argued more the less sex they had.

The reason for the decline in passion was put down to familiarity by researchers.

According to the findings, in the first 12 months of a relationship people are eager to get to know each other. However when that period passes they are too familiar with their partner's needs.
