Meet the dog whose amazing hair is breaking the internet

It's not often we have hair envy over a dog, but then again, Tea the Afghan hound is no ordinary pooch.

Recently retiring from her show dog days, the five-year-old pup from Sydney became a viral sensation thanks to a pic of her sprawled on a bench.

With her long, dark coat falling perfectly out around her, Tea's owner Luke Kavanagh says the attention has come as a surprise, but he can understand the fuss around his furry friend.

"Even our weekend walks draw a crowd. She pretends she doesn’t need the attention, but she definitely loves it, just like any supermodel,' he told NewsLocal.

Luke admits he retired Tea so he could spend more time with his family.

Despite her profile skyrocketing and the requests coming in, Tea's said to be enjoying her retirement and is unlikely to make a return to the show circuit.

"On show day she exemplifies Afghan hound, she is dignified, aloof and most certainly displays a keen fierceness. At home she is such a character and really loving her retirement," says Luke. "Whether she's naked or draped in the finest of silk gowns, Tea will always be my queen."
