"I'm a nudist": Heidi Klum talks body confidence

She's one of the most beautiful women on the planet so it's only natural Heidi Klum is extremely comfortable in her own skin.

The 43-year-old Germany’s Next Top Model judge covers the December issue of Ocean Drive magazine, where she candidly chats about her luxurious holidays with her 30-year-old boyfriend, Vito Schnabel and her affection of sunbathing topless.

“I grew up going to nude beaches with my parents, so I’m a nudist,” Klum explains in the piece.

“I have no problems with nudity at all. I’m very free. When I go to the beach, it’s in a very remote place where there are not a lot of people, and I like to go topless.”

Klum went on to explain that she would prefer to enjoy the company of her contemporary art dealer beau in private but due to her celebrity status that's been nearly impossible since the pair started dating back in 2014.

“I’m not doing PDA on the beach with tons of people. I go on a boat or I take a hike somewhere. If you would zoom out in the places where I’m with my boyfriend, there’s nobody there,” she said.

“Unfortunately, paparazzi always follow us, in a helicopter or they hang behind a bush or a boat and they come up with scuba gear. But to the outside world, it looks like we’re frolicking on the beach having a show in front of everyone.”

The German supermodel, who began modeling at the age of 18 after landing a job with Victoria's Secret, said body confidence has always been a massive thing for her over her expansive career and claims that she's been told she was "too feminine" and "too curvy" during her life.

However she said she stuck to her guns and it all worked out for her in the end and speaking to Shape magazine earlier this month she slammed reports models don't eat.

“The myth that models don’t eat is totally not true,” she said

“I just think that because we’re in this business, we have to choose more wisely. It’s not just about doing the cardio so that you’re nice and fit, and slim and trim, but your heart needs to pump, too, and that is very important.”
