Meghan proves she's ready to lead

She may not be a princess just yet, but Meghan Markle seems to be more than ready to be a leader.

The 35-year-old Suits actress features in Vanity Fair's latest photo shoot, featuring a string of global leaders who attended the One Young World Summit last October.

Prince Harry's girlfriend is joined by the likes of actress Emma Watson, Canadian politician Justin Trudeau, poet Fatima Bhutto, singer Cher, President of Ireland Mary Robinson and women's rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul in the shoot.

Meghan recently opened up about her involvement with the One Young World Summit, writing on her blog Tig: "When I was asked to be a Counsellor at One Young World, my response was a resounding ‘yes.'

"One Young World invites young adults from all over the world who are actively working to transform the socio-political landscape by being the greater good.

"They are delegates who are speaking out against human rights violations, environmental crises, gender equality issues, discrimination and injustice. They are the change."

Meghan was born to a clinical therapist mother and television lighting director father. Growing up in Los Angeles, her parents split when she was just six years old. At the age of 11, she famously penned a letter to then-first lady Hilary Clinton, contesting a controversial soap ad.

She went on to study at Northwestern University in Illinois, and is known for her humanitarian work as well as being a household name on American TV. Meghan is famed for her role as Rachel Zane on legal drama Suits, having starred on the program since its first season in July 2011.
