Possum sneaks into Bunnings store

Shoppers were in for a furry surprise at a Brisbane Bunnings store this weekend, when a cute possum was spotted scurrying about in the plants section.

A Facebook video shared by Brisbane woman Yvonne McRostie shows the animal munching on some lettuce at the Carseldine store, and unsurprisingly, the video has gone viral! Watch above!

Apparently the possum was eventually shooed away by a staff member.

"I couldn't believe it happened in the middle of the day, I've never seen a possum in the middle of the day," Yvonne told ABC.

A spokesperson for Bunnings also told ABC that their stores "from time to time encounter visits from wildlife, including possums".

"Typically they leave on their own accord, however in situations where the safety of our customers and team or the animal may be compromised we contact the relevant authority to safely remove the animal from the store."
