Although he appeared as nervous as any other four-year-old on his first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea in souht-west London, he wasn’t the only royal in attendance for their first day at the prep school.

George is reportedly in the same class as his distant cousin Maud Windsor, daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor and Lady Sophie Windsor.

How exactly are the pair “distantly” related?

Well, four-year-old Maud is the first grandchild of Prince Michael of Kent and his wife, the Princess of Kent.

The Prince of Kent is a first cousin twice removed from Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William’s grandmother making Maud Windsor the distant cousin of Prince George.
