Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are coming to Australia

Australian royal fans have a reason to rejoice, as Prince Harry and fiancee Meghan Markle are set to visit our shores in the new year.

The 33-year-old prince and the 36-year-old Suits actress are expected to be in Sydney for the Invictus Games in October 2018, and reportedly will also be stopping by Melbourne for another soiree.

According to the Herald Sun, the royal couple will make an appearance at a charity polo tournament while they are in the country.

Earlier this year Markle was seen right by her man's side in Toronto during the Invictus Games, and considering they're tying the knot in May, it makes sense for the pair to make the trip together when the games are held in Australia.

Last month it was confirmed that the couple are engaged.

Harry and Meghan's exciting news was announced via a statement from Prince Charles, that revealed the fifth in line to the throne actually proposed earlier this month with a stunning diamond ring made up from a gem he sourced from Botswana - where the couple had their first private holiday - and stones from his late mother's jewellery collection.

A letter from Clarence House, the Prince of Wales’ residence, was released just after 9pm Australian time and says that Harry, 33, got down on one knee after asking 36-year-old Meghan’s parents for her hand.

After receiving both their blessings, he shared the news with his family and the Queen, and posed for his first photo and TV interview with his new bride-to-be in the hours that followed the initial announcement.
