Queen's sassy comments make her an internet sensation

She’s a notoriously private person but Queen Elizabeth has showed off her sassy side in a new BCC interview.

The 91-year-old became an internet sensation overnight after a special programme about her coronation was released on the BBC.

The show saw the Queen sitting with royal expert commenter Alastair Bruce, answering his questions in the most hilarious way.

“I don’t suppose you’ve ever seen these films very often ma’am,” Alastair asked the Queen while they sat down to watch a film from the day at Buckingham Palace.

“I don’t suppose I’ve ever seen it,” the Queen responded.

The video showed Prince Charles and Princess Anne watching from an upstairs window at the Palace while their mother waved at crowds from her carriage.

“Because only Prince Charles actually witnessed it, isn’t it that Princess Anne stayed back here?” Alastair said to which the Queen replied: “And he only came for 10 minutes or something.”

When the reporter then asked the Queen what the children actually did on the day, the Queen replied: “No idea. Wasn’t there. I wasn’t there! I’ve no idea what they did. But there were a lot of other people in the palace as well I think.”
