Controversial royal set to attend Harry and Meghan's wedding
For a family that tries to keep themselves prim and publicly proper at all times, the British royal family have weathered their fair share of scandal.
And now, with the biggest wedding of the year approaching in just a few months, it looks like one scandal-plagued member of the family will attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, despite media speculation otherwise.
It's been reported Sarah Ferguson will attend Prince Harry and Meghan‘s wedding in "a bid to heal broken family ties".
As a consequence to her divorce from Prince Andrew, Sarah was not invited to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding back in 2011.
And in an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show, the 58-year-old revealed that she flew abroad in the run-up to the royal nuptials.
“I was not invited, and I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Camelia and… the jungle embraced me,” Sarah revealed.
But it is not certain whether or not the Duchess of York will attend the church ceremony or just the evening celebration.
According to the Daily Mail, Kensington Palace is preparing to send out wedding invitations this week and it’s believed that Sarah will attend at least "part of the day".
And in a bid to avoid diplomatic tensions, this may mean that the 58-year-old will join guests at the evening event.
“There is a separate party later on, which happened at William and Kate’s wedding, where different guests are able to attend who didn’t get an invite to the official ceremony and dinner," a source told the Sun.
According to reports, the Duchess of York is ‘quietly hoping’ to ‘experience a dry run of sorts’ in preparation for her daughter Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.
The couple are set to wed in St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on October, 2018.
