While she’s generally the picture of style and grace, Kate Middleton got herself into a spot of bother on her latest royal outing when her heel got stuck in a grate.
Proving that she is just like us - who hasn’t got their heel stuck before? - Kate didn’t let the minor slip up faze her at all.
Arriving in Essex to open a new treatment centre for addiction recovery patients, Kate was greeted by the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Essex Jonathan Douglas-Hughes.
Ironically, he actually slipped and fell when he met Kate and William in 2016, so after Kate managed to gracefully extract her black suede heels she joked that she had now done “the same as you”.
As patron of charity Action on Addiction, the 36-year-old met with healthcare professionals to learn more about the organisation’s recovery programme, Clouds in the Community.
The charity also offers members of the public degree-level educational courses at The Centre for Addiction Treatment Studies in Wiltshire.

Back in 2015, the Duchess of Cambridge visited the facility and met with the centre’s recent graduates, telling them: “It’s such a positive story for you all”.
The pregnant royal championed her favourite label of the moment, Goat, in a cobalt blue coat by the London-based brand.
