Meghan and Harry's star-studded wedding guest list

They’re massive stars in their own right and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day looks set to be the biggest celebrity bash of the year.

Forget the Oscars and the Grammy’s because the May 19th St. George’s Chapel ceremony looks likely to be awash with some of the most well-known faces in the world.

When it comes to the royals, they’re pretty much the most well-connected family in the whole business.

Of course, Meghan has just left her job on Suits, one of the biggest Hollywood shows around and Prince Harry has been brushing shoulders with Tinseltown’s elite since the day he was born.

And now, a source has revealed to the Daily Star that not only can we expect the extended members of the royal family to scrub up and show up for the day, but two of the biggest music stars in the world will also be in attendance.

A source told the publication that Sir Elton John is top of the guest list, having been firm friends with Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.

Indeed, Elton appeared on an ITV documentary, Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, with Prince Harry back in July, talking about the impact Diana had on the world.

The pop legend and Diana famously fell out just a year before she died after she pulled out of a charity event he was hosting.

Speaking on CNN's "Larry King Live" in 2002, Elton explained what brought them back together.

“I wasn't too happy, and I let her know that. And then she wrote me a very terse letter," he said.

"It's one of those things that friends sometimes do. You know, they're too proud to pick up the phone.

“And it was just due to a tragic event like Gianni's murder that brought us back together again.”

Elton was referring to Gianni Verscae, who was fatally shot outside his Miami Beach home in 1997.

The next major star on the couple’s guest list is Sting, who is also said to be a friend of the family.

Also expected to be invited to the wedding is Meghan’s Hollywood friends, Serena William and Priyanka Chopra, as well as David and Victoria Beckham and Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh.

Indeed, it’s been claimed that Millie and Meghan are so close that she could be a strong contender to be bridesmaid.

Only time will tell.
