The blonde woman behind Meghan at all her official royal visits

She’s one of the most photographed women in the planet, with adoring fans desperate to get close to her and now Meghan Markle has hired a personal assistant to help her deal with her fame.

Amy Pickerell is 36-year-old Meghan’s new right-hand woman and if you’ve been looking at photos of the former Suits actress out-and-about at royal visits recently, you’ll have seen her in the background.

Senior communications officer Amy Pickerill isn’t new to the royal family, as she’s previously assisted Kate Middleton and has been working with Prince Harry for years.

Amy, who made her debut alongside Meghan during the royal couple’s trip to Cardiff, attended the University of Nottingham where she obtained a history degree and she has also studied broadcast journalism at City University.

After that she took up a role at the Royal Bank of Scotland, before moving to New York for a short stint.

On her return in 2016, she began working for the royal family, helping the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge out as well as handling Prince Harry’s media relations.

However, it appears that Amy was promoted recently, as she now has a senior title and is about to become one of Meghan Markle’s closest confidants.

Amy will be by Meghan’s side at every event, helping her out with everything from gifts to holding her bag if needed.

She will also be making statement to the media on the royal’s behalf and making diary arrangements.

But it appears that the job isn’t enough for one person, as the royal household have advertised on LinkedIn for another communications assistant.

The role ‘promotes the work, role, relevance and value of the Royal Family to a worldwide audience’.

The person will be expected to assist senior colleagues, which no doubt includes Amy, and help organize Palace engagements.
