Camilla's wealth has skyrocketed since she married Prince Charles

She grew up in a beautiful country estate as part of a wealthy family but Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall’s wealth has gone through the roof since she married into the royal family.

Camilla Parker-Bowles, who was born Camilla Shand and changed her name when she married Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973, walked up the aisle and said ‘I do’ to Prince Charles in April 2005.

And while she may have played in a $2 million home when she was growing up, Camilla is now worth a lot more than that.

It’s been reported that Camilla now has a cool $5 million in the bank.

The Duchess spends most of her time being the patron of charities, such as Arthritis Research UK, The Poppy Factory and St. John's Hospital.

She also accompanies Prince Charles on his many official royal visits and official events.

The couple agreed not to sign a pre-nup before they tied the knot in 2005.

It was a bit of a controversial decision, especially considering Prince Charles forked out $28.19 million (£17.5 million) to Princess Diana when the pair divorced in 1996.

Back then it was reported that Charles sold his whole financial portfolio to meet Diana’s demands but decided against getting a pre-nup when he wed Camilla nine years later.

Royal aides desperately tried to get the Prince to draft up a pre-nup for Camilla to sign after his divorce from Diana but he was having none of it, the Telegraph reported.

"There is no pre-nup. He is adamant that the marriage has to be based from the start on trust and good faith," a royal source told the publication at the time.

Prince Charles is estimated to be worth $210 million, with a lot of his income believed to come from organic food company Duchy Originals which was founded by the prince in 1990.

In 2015, it was reported by Business Insider that Prince Charles forks out over six million in allowances to Camilla and his offspring every year.

On top of that, Forbes reported that the Queen Elizabeth has an estimated net worth of $500 million, with a huge property portfolio making up the vast majority of it.
