Police chief reveals the dumbest emergency calls

While some of us may sometimes feel like ringing up anybody to come take care of our first world problems for us, we never actually do it.

However, it turns out that there really are people out there who call up the emergency department about the smallest things – and the authorities are getting fed up with it.

In an effort to put an end to bizarre calls, a US police chief decided to put together a video of some of the most random 911 problems they’ve heard on the phone.

“Calling 911 is serious business, but these calls— not so much,” the San Antonio Police Department captioned the video on Facebook.

“911 receives millions of calls each year. Don’t tie up call-takers with non-emergencies.”

The video shows Police Chief William McManus reading out a list of calls they’ve received.

“I’m stuck on a carnival ride and the girl behind me is puking,” the first caller rang in about, to which McManus’s response was: “Really dude?”

The next caller just wanted to show his appreciation for the work the police force does.

“You guys do such great work behind the scenes. I just called to say I love you,” the caller said.

The next two calls are probably the strangest, with the first caller seemingly getting the police mixed up with a plumbing agency.

“Yes sir, I have a water leak in my house and I don’t know what to do,” the call went, to which McManus replied: “Come on man, SAPD does not stand for San Antonio Plumbing Department.”

And in the case of the last call, we’re really hoping they just got the wrong number.

“Yes, hi, I’m starving, can I get a large pepperoni from the closest pizza joint?” the caller read.

“Are you kidding me? We’re also not the San Antonio Pizza Department either,” McManus quipped back.
