Unfortunately, some bubble bursting scientists over in Canada have some bad news for you. While, you may think you look fire in selfie #46 apparently science/your Facebook friends think otherwise.

A new study conducted by the University of Toronto asked 198 students – 100 of which were ‘regular selfie takers’ for their help. Selfies were taken along with, well, normal photos and the subjects were asked to judge their own attractiveness in the pics.

Another independent 178 people were then bought into the equation. These peeps were asked to judge the pics on their attractiveness as well as which photos suggested the most narcissism. Eek. You know what’s coming, don’t you?

But, the real blow comes from the researchers analysis of the study. “Selfie takers generally over perceived the positive attributes purveyed by their selfies,” said researchers.

“Here, we found that selfie-takes believed their selfies to look more attractive and likable than photos of them taken by other people.”

Ouch.

But hey, likes don’t lie. So, if you’re in need of a little self-affirmation from your digi-friends, we say go right ahead. If it works for Kim…
