Scott Gooding chats to Simon Pryce, aka the Red Wiggle

The one and only Red Wiggle, Simon Pryce, took time out of his busy schedule to chat health, fitness and smoothies with me.

And while it may seem like being an energetic Wiggle is enough of a workout, Simon, reveals that he has to push his body even further to achieve his fit physique.

“We kind of keep as active as we possible can. [The Wiggles] do about three of four shows a day but your body gets used to anything so we have to mix it up,” Simon told me during our chat.

“We tend to go for a lot of runs, and we've got weights back stage, we do a lot of body weight stuff.”

While Simon certainly looks in great shape, the Wiggle reveals that it’s his chest he’s self conscious about.

“I’ve never quite got them [his chest] to where I want to, so in doing that I probably overwork it and send it the other way.”

Simon's other half is also interested in keeping fit and healthy. His fiance, former elite gymnast and Insta fitspo star, Lauren Hannaford, who he proposed to in Paris in February.

He finally popped the question in the city of love after being together for four years.

So what exactly is the secret to being part of one of TV’s most popular foursomes ever, The Wiggles?

“The key for the Wiggles is about understanding your audience and indicating to children in a language they understand. So if I’m engaged in that and they’re engaged in that then that’s where you get that hour, your forget about everything else,“ he said.

How to make the Mr Muscle smoothie

Serves 1

200 mls coconut cream (nut milk if preferred)
1 tbs tahini
1-2 tbs protein powder
¼ banana
1 tbs MCT oil
1 tsp vanilla bean powder
1 tbs cacao
Handful ice
1 tsp cacao nib/chia/bits for topping
