Mum who ate 21 burgers a week on how she shed 45kg

A 108kg mum who binged on 21 burgers a week has now shed a whopping 45kg after fearing her junk food addiction could kill her.

20-year-old Alisha-Kate Armstrong gained 25.4kg after dealing with the stress of becoming a new mum to her one-year-old daughter Tilly last year and ballooned up to a size 22.

The health and social care student guzzled 35 slices of white bread with brown sauce in just one week as well as three burgers a day.

The mum was unable to take good care of Tilly as she was too embarrassed to go outside and was even housebound for two weeks.

However, after noticing that she was getting out of breath when chasing after her daughter, she decided it was time for a change in March this year.

In November, she reached her target weight of 63.5kg after ditching the burgers and admits she keeps getting asked if she was wearing a fat suit before her incredible transformation.

"The amount of food I was shoveling in my mouth was terrible,” she said.

“Looking back, I'm surprised I didn't have a heart attack. It could have killed me.

“Having to give up all of the takeaways was the most difficult. It was scary.”

The mum of one didn't touch a piece of fruit for the first half of this year and relied on takeaways and six chocolate bars a day to deal with the stress of being a new parent.

However, after joining Slimming World in March this year Alisha-Kate has undergone a startling transformation after losing 45kg within just nine months.

"I feel so much better now. I'm a completely different person. When people see me they are so shocked,” she said.

"My daughter is now going to nursery. I don't feel restricted anymore.

"We go to play groups together. I wouldn't have been able to do that before. It has completely changed my life. It has been amazing."

Despite her incredible transformation, Alisha-Kate still goes for size 22 clothing when shopping and has to gradually work her way down to a size 10.

“I'm just used to being that size,” she said.

“I've never been a small girl before but now I'm the smallest I have ever been.”
