From Town & Country

More than a week after she was born, Zara Tindall's second daughter finally has a name: Lena Elizabeth. A spokeswoman for the couple confirmed the news early this morning to the delight of royal fans everywhere.

As Victoria Arbiter told T&C earlier this year, before the birth of Prince Louis, members of the royal family delay in sharing their children's names publicly for several reasons.

"On one hand there's a desire to inform the families before a public declaration is made and any new parent appreciates having a little private time to get to know their new addition before the onslaught of announcements," she said via email.

"Royals, however, also have to consider the great responsibility in naming a new member of the family and I expect they want to be a hundred percent certain of their choice before announcing the name and sealing the baby's place in history."

Keeping that in mind, here's the meaning behind each of the little royal's names:

Lena

In naming their second daughter, Mike and Zara Tindall ventured a bit outside the royal norm. Lena means light, and is of Greek origin.

Elizabeth

A nod to Zara's grandmother the Queen, the name Elizabeth means "oath of God." Lena shares her middle name with several members of the royal family including Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte, Princess Beatrice, Princess Anne, and her mother, Zara.

The Surname

The baby's last name will be Tindall, like her mother, father, and sister. She will not have a royal title.
