MAFS’ Madeleine reveals whether she'd return to 'Home and Away'

Madeleine played Amber on the hit soap from 2020-2021.

Married At First Sight's Madeleine Maxwell has addressed whether she'd ever appear on Home and Away again, after playing the role of Amber Simmons for 55 episodes.

Madeleine's character Amber came into the Bay as a carer for John Palmer, bringing her son Jai with her. As it turns, out Jai's father was former river boy and Summer Bay favourite Dean Thompson (played by Patrick O'Connor).

Madeleine, who has also starred in Upper Middle Bogan and Wentworth Prison, appeared on Home and Away from 2020-2021, and remembers her time fondly, telling Yahoo Lifestyle's Behind The Edit podcast it was one of the best jobs she's ever done.

When asked if she'd ever return to Summer Bay, Madeleine said she never says no to anything.

"Can I just tell you, that was honestly one of the best jobs I've ever done, it taught me so much," she said. "And it's one of those things... I never say no to anything. I just think whatever it will be, will be."

"I mean, what is a production plant, is it a production plant that's going to do whatever producers want you to do in order to create drama?" Madeleine asked. "Because I am not that person, if anything, it's like when it's me and my name towards a project, I believe it should be people's own values and beliefs.

"I would never sign up for that, but let me tell you, there's a lot of actresses on that show baby, and I was not acting despite what everyone says, they should be paid a lot more for what they're doing, let's just say that!"
