Parents warning after newborn suffers horrifying nappy rash

A father has shared horrifying photos of his newborn’s nappy rash in a bid to warn other parents about potential chemical reactions from nappies.

Jordan Bartliff, from the UK, took to Facebook after his son had the most severe reaction from wearing a new nappy for just an hour.

The little guy is now hooked to an oxygen machine in hospital.

“So Saturday has to be the worst day of our lives so far,” the dad said in his Facebook post.

“We opened a fresh pack of Newborn Little Angels to put on the baby, we go to change the nappy an hour later, and these pictures are the results.”

It was the first time the newborn, who was born five weeks premmie, had worn this nappy brand - which is made by the UK supermarket chain, Asda.

“And NO he’s not allergic to them - that’s been ruled out. It looks like a chemical reaction has been confirmed by the hospital - as he’s been wearing the same nappies for three weeks prior to this - with no problems whatsoever,” his dad says.

“I don’t normally put personal stuff on Facebook but as it’s happened to such an innocent little life at three weeks old the day it happened, who bearing in mind is 5 weeks early, who is now needing oxygen through a machine because of this.”

Jordan, who explains that their first child didn’t have any reaction to the same nappies, is hoping to warn other parents to be aware that babies can have chemical reactions.

“I wouldn’t want it happening to any other little soul, so please be vigilant and careful with these nappies as it obviously is a bad batch,” he says.

“Our heartbroken words cannot explain how we feel right now. Please share this to make other parents aware.”

The BBC reported that Asda has since started investigating and had made a ‘nationwide call to remove the product on Monday afternoon’.

“If anyone has got them please take them back. Share this please - take the nappies back and don’t use them,” Jordan pleads.
