Mums go wild for Kmart bento lunchbox hack

A group of mums online have invented a creative way of packing their kid’s lunchboxes every day.

The genius hack appeared on a Facebook group and has since swept the web, with people every applauding them making a bento-style lunchbox out of Kmart products.

And amazingly, all you need to create the bento box is a a giant $2 ice cube tray and a $3.50 clear container.

“I hacked a Kmart bento box from the ice cube tray & 600ml container. Total cost $4.50!,” one mum wrote online.

“I trimmed the sides of the ice cube tray. And the compartment dividers touch the lid perfectly.”

Since posting her clever trick, the mum’s post has received over 390 comments, with other mums claiming they too use the hack.

“I love this!! The yum box I was looking at is $45,” one mum said.

“You are literally a genius!! Did this today and it was fantastic,” another mum said.

“Thanks for this! We did it today and my girl loves it,” a mum said, alongside a snap of her epic homemade bento box.

However others took to the thread to claim that Kmart actually already sell a bento-style box and it’s only $5.

Either way, this is giving us all the lunch inspiration we need to pack up some snacks for the week ahead.
