Kate Middleton wants a home birth

The Duchess of Cambridge has her heart set on a home birth for the delivery of her third baby, insiders say.

Royal sources insist Kate originally sought permission to have her first and second children – George, four, and Charlotte, two – at home but doctors advised against it both times.

Now, though, it's believed there's a good chance Kate will deliver baby number three at Kensington Palace.

"The Duchess knew it wasn’t possible for her first baby to be born at home, but she asked for a home birth for the second," a Palace insider told the Daily Mail.

"Officials and doctors thought it too risky. There was concern and in the end she decided against it."

One advantage to having a home-birth is that Kate would be spared the experience of being captured by paparazzi as she left the maternity hospital.

Instead, George and Charlotte would also be able to meet their new baby sibling straight away at home.
