These high school girl's notes to each other are going viral

When most of us hear the words "muck-up day" we think vandalism, rampant destruction and wanton disregard for the law.

After all, when this time-honoured last-day-of high-school tradition makes the headlines, it's usually for the wrong reasons.

But a group of young women finishing school in WA has rewritten the rule book with a beautiful note left for the students coming after them.

Stuck to the mirror in their Perth high school's bathroom, the note is kind, generous and caring towards the girls' younger colleagues.

And they've surrounded the letter with a colourful aray of affirming Post-It notes which other students can take with them to keep as a reminder.

"You are beautiful", "Be yourself" and "Don't give up" are just some of the sweet, thoughtful messages the girls have left.
